Means Industries, Inc. designs, assembles and tests some of the most sophisticated One Way Clutch and Controllable Clutch products for Powertrain and Driveline applications in the industry. With technical expertise heavily engrained into our culture we dedicate substantial resource to R&D enabling the rapid progression of our clutch technology. We continue to develop and launch industry-leading technologies that easily integrate into the end-user applications while adding value by meeting and exceeding both functional and efficiency objectives.

The dedicated design and analysis team at Means adds to the overall value proposition by making an important contribution to the design and development of complex clutch systems ensuring reliability and performance in the application. The design group has the ability to perform linear, static, modal, buckling and contact analysis in addition to utilizing LMS dynamic modeling software for realistic multibody simulation including modeling, solving and analysis. This enables us to carry out virtual testing simulations for complex scenarios helping to reduce the overall product development lifecycle.

Capitalizing on our dedicated in-house research and product development team Means is able to develop a wide variety of solutions for our global customer base. With over a dozen unique pieces of test equipment Means can support customer validation requirements, reduce program lead-times, develop and validate new products, collect real-time data, correlate test results to analysis and actual vehicle testing all in support of our customers and new product development initiatives.

Our on-site Metallurgist supports the Means products through the continuous testing and monitoring of our internally produced and externally procured components. We pride ourselves in understanding the implications of material and process selection. By dedicating resources to advancing our material engineering capabilities with a committed focus on material design and selection, heat treatment, performance and analytical evaluation we continue to increase the value our products offer with each product design iteration and new product launch.
